We'd like to have a chance to install our first system at Bodo West, one of the nastiest areas of pollution in the Delta. Not only does the equipment make serious inroads to the water quality, vegetation, soil and air, operations would provide a more productive use for the manpower now engaged in artisanal refining. This is a way to turn an entrepeneurial populace in favor of economic cleanup rather than casual environmental destruction. Find out more!

Everybody's been there. 8 hours from port. Maybe 10, against a 12 knot headwind. Your fuel gauge is broke. Somebody lost the original stick. Can you make it? Just measure the length and radius of your tank, depth of fuel, here or here, set your best cruise, 2300 with a diesel, and you'll make home port with fuel to spare. You do have your iPad, right? We're now selling iPhone Apps for $0.99! Our first is a handy coil weight calculator, that gives you information in Imperial and Metric. If you don't yet have an iPhone and still use an old time computer, pick up the spreadsheet in either Numbers or Excel format on our contact page. We're looking for more ideas for helpful tools you need. Let us know! We now have a design for a transportable unit, containerized, and able to be installed in 48 hours on your site. Scale Pit Water Treatment
Industrial water treatment has in the past been an inexpensive and simple system. One takes in clean water upstream, runs it through the plant process, and discharges it downstream. Times have changed. Water has become a costly resource, and continues to increase in cost daily. Current systems are both limited by discharge water quality standards and burdened with more stringent process quality demands in the plant, while tasked with protection of increasingly more costly equipment. One of our recent clients found himself in this increasingly common and untenable position and tasked us with creation of a low cost high performance water treatment system in his plant. We succeeded. We first installed a technology demonstrator set, then a scaled up process treatment plant sized for the particular plant operation. Our equipment removes the majority of contaminants in any closed process reservoir at an intermediate process step, dramatically reducing environmental demands on the final process outflow, while significantly improving process water quality and extending equipment Mean Time Between Failure. We also offer significantly lower installed and operating costs. We have designed our next generation of equipment to be manufactured and installed as containerized units, which can be installed without disruption to existing plant operations. Equipment can be committed for delivery 12 months after receipt of order. Installation and maintenance is provided by a factory trained crew. We have no competitors at our quality or cost points. Our process is unique. Our market is international, both for brownfield and greenfield plants. Here is the story on conventional management of oil spills, including the recent spill at Bonga in December You may note that while working on the high seas, the cleanup crew also noted the oil contamination in the Delta from the last 50 years of operations, regrettably inaccessible. The contaminated area is only about the size of Portugal. There are no plans to address this area, as our equipment is not in place, or under contract. Today. The Federal Commission Report on the spill at the Deepwater Horizon last year can be found here.
http://www.oilspillcommission.gov/final-report If you browse through it, you will note that a long series of human oversight errors, some small, some glaring, contributed to the event, any one of which would have prevented it's occurrence. I don't believe humans can operate a system of such complexity reliably, at least until we all learn to drive our cars without hitting each other. It would make sense to have a remediation plan in place to address such situations in future. It can even be cost effective, especially when compared to the financial trauma BP and their suppliers have yet to experience fully. If committees told the truth "Hi, we're here to take your project to places you didn't imagine. With us on board, your project will now take three times as long. It will cost five times as much. And we will compromise the art and the vision out of it, we will make it reasonable and safe and boring." Great work is never reasonable, safe or boring. Thanks anyway. We spent the morning at the beach. This is a good habit, if you have one (a beach). The waves roll in pretty unceasingly, about 5 per minute, some bigger, some smaller, to deposit their Flotsam (Big Chunks) and Jetsam (Little Black Things) at the water edge. This is stuff you don't really notice in the water, but it does pile up at the edge and is noticeable. Our equipment makes about 1800 waves per minute on our beach, about 4000 equivalent feet deep at the water's edge. The Flotsam and Jetsam are transported off the beach, the clean water rolls back in. The process is pretty dependable, and has actually been around for years. Millennia, actually. This is your new blog post. Click here and start typing, or drag in elements from the top bar.

Lk 5:4 Launch Out Dr. Robert Schuller's hobbies include raising koi fish. Asked why some grow big while others stay small, he replied, "If a koi fish lives in a small tank it will never grow longer than two or three inches. In a larger pond they can grow up to ten inches long—in ponds the size of mine they'll get to be eighteen inches long—but if they live in a huge lake where they can swim and stretch, they can grow up to three feet long. The size of the pond determines the size of the fish. Similarly, little ideas in little-thinking minds produce little achievements. But little ideas embraced by big-thinking minds produce enormous achievements." Jesus said, "According to your faith be it unto you" (Mt 9:29). The size of your faith and your vision determines the outcome of your idea. Edison had to install electric lights for free in an office building before anyone even came to look at them. The first sewing machine invented was destroyed by a mob in France. Morse waited for ten years before the world showed any interest in his telegraph. And when the idea of traveling by railroad was introduced, people scoffed because it was widely believed that traveling at thirty miles per hour stopped blood circulation in the human body. Ronald E. Osborn said, "Undertake something difficult; it will do you good. Unless you try something beyond what you have already mastered, you'll never grow." You attain in direct proportion to what you attempt, which is why Jesus said to His disciples: "Launch out into the deep." |
